L'espressività del linguaggio visivo di Jürgen Knubben può essere vista nella forma elementare e ridotta della testa della sua Nefertiti del 2011, che è stata unita alla sua controparte Akhenaton sotto il titolo Tête à Tête del 2019. Qui, l'artista ha intrapreso una trasformazione senza togliere l'identità del personaggio. The expressiveness of Jürgen Knubben's visual language can be seen in the elementary, reduced form of the head of his 2011 Nefertiti, which has been combined with her Akhenaten counterpart under the title Tête à Tête 2019. Here, the artist has undertaken a transformation without taking away the character's identity. In their posture and formal austerity, they have become faceless icons of the ruler type and, through this de-individualisation, have acquired a generality that also makes them conceivable as a couple of regents of the Schönborn residence. Of course, the contrast between the pharaohs' heads, abstracted to the essentials, and the voluptuously sensual painting and sumptuous design of the palace interior, pulsating with vivacity, is particularly attractive. It is here that worlds meet, the juxtaposition of the difficult to reconcile, as our present demonstrates daily through its cultural and social pluralism.
